PITCH
VARIETY & SENIOR LEADERSHIP
In 2019, Variety opened a call for a female senior leadership feature focused on impacting change in the entertainment industry. On behalf of CBS Studios, I pitched Lauri Metrose (EVP, Communications) and Tiffany Smith-Anoa’i (EVP, Diversity & Inclusion), for their work and dedication to our internal initiative, CBS EYE Speak.
Two of CBS’ senior executives, Lauri Metrose (EVP, Communications) and Tiffany Smith-Anoa’i (EVP, Diversity & Inclusion), joined forces to create the CBS “EYE Speak” Leadership program. After identifying a need for more female representation, mentorship accessibility, and leadership resources, they developed this initiative, building on CBS Corporation’s ongoing commitment to provide insight and opportunities for women – both within the Company and media industry as a whole. Launched in January 2018, “EYE Speak” holds events and conversations designed to build a successful support system by allowing for an open and empowering exchange about growth and change in the workplace. For more information on “EYE Speak,” follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at @EYESpeak, respectively.
To launch the initiative, CBS Television Studios hosted a kickoff event on March 14 in Los Angeles featuring a panel of some of the strongest female voices from in front of and behind the camera. They included: Gina Rodriguez (Jane The Virgin), Sonequa Martin Green (Star Trek: Discovery), Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) and Aline Brosh McKenna (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend).
